I bought these to replace the cheap blades on my car. I wasn't sure what to expect and pretty much assumed that all blades were the same. These blades did a pretty good job during the rainy season and still work just as well for the random showers we've been having in my area. I have no idea on the life of these, but they've been on my car for a few months.

I've used various wiper brands on my 2001 Taurus and now my 2007 Prius. Bosch Icon is now the only brand I will buy.
Yes, they're expensive. And no, they don't last particularly long.
That said, no wiper blade lasts very long. Consumer Reports tested various wiper blades and determined that you should replace them every 6 months. I usually replace mine about every 9 months. I drive 12,000 miles a year.
The Icon blades are very quiet - no squeaks. When they are new they clear perfectly. After 8 months or so they start to streak. That's when you need to replace them.
I am picky about wiper blades and I will not put up with streaks or noise. I just bought a pair of Trico Teflon blades to replace my 9-month-old Icon blades and they're getting returned (or trashed if I can't return them). The Trico blades streak and are noisy, and that's when they are new. I've had other blades that are OK when they are new but wear out after a couple of months. In my experience, none are as good as the Icon blades when they are new, and none last longer.
As for the cost, it's really not that bad. 9 months is about 9000 miles for me. That's over $700 in gas alone, even in my Prius. Then there's wear on my car (about another $700 in maintenance and depreciation if you assume I can get 200k miles before I retire it), insurance (another $400), taxes (another $60). So it costs me around $1860 to drive 9000 miles. If I spend $45 on wiper blades instead of $25, that's an extra $20, or around 1%. And in my book it is absolutely worth it to spend 1% extra per mile to have a safer, less annoying, better wiper blade.

I am simply replacing the existing set of the exact same blades. I purchased the first set for this truck nearly 3 years ago and only this winter have they started to leave streaks and chatter a bit. I live in Eastern Idaho where temperature extremes, ice, and my time in the mountains wiping off mud and gunk usually destroy a blade in less than a year. I've been extremely impressed with these blades. The design is also very helpful for keeping the blades in good contact at high speed. This is the first set of blades I've had that doesn't lift up in the middle while going 75+ because of all the stuff attached to the front of the vehicle creating such turbulent air.
